Colorectal surgeons and physicians conduct surgical treatments of diseases involving the colon and rectum. They work closely with Urologists, Gynecologists and Gastroentinal physicians to help diagnose lower digestive tract conditions. Additionally, they consult and examine previous medical history to determine their patients' need for surgery and treatment. In addition to medical surgeries using advanced equipment, they may be responsible for colonoscopies, colon resections or rectal removal.
